This Cajun Honey Butter Salmon is a bold and flavorful dish that’s ready in under 30 minutes! It combines spicy Cajun seasoning with rich, sweet honey butter to create a juicy, caramelized crust on perfectly cooked salmon. Ideal for a quick dinner with restaurant-level taste!
Ingredients
- 4 salmon fillets (skin on or off, as preferred)
- 2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 3 tablespoons honey
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice (optional, for balance)
- Fresh parsley or green onions, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Pat the salmon fillets dry with a paper towel. Season both sides generously with Cajun seasoning, salt, and pepper.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, place the salmon fillets skin-side down and cook for 4–5 minutes.
- Flip the fillets and cook for another 3–4 minutes until cooked through and golden brown. Remove from the pan and set aside.
- In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium. Add the butter, honey, and minced garlic. Stir constantly until the sauce bubbles and thickens slightly, about 2 minutes.
- Return the salmon to the pan and spoon the honey butter sauce over each piece to glaze them.
- Finish with a squeeze of lemon juice if desired, and garnish with chopped parsley or green onions.
- Serve hot with rice, mashed potatoes, or steamed vegetables.
Tips & Variations
- For extra heat, add a pinch of cayenne or red pepper flakes to the Cajun mix.
- Use a cast iron pan for an extra-crispy crust.
- Make it in the oven by baking at 400°F (200°C) for 12–15 minutes and broiling for the last 2 minutes.
