Cajun Honey Butter Salmon Recipe

This Cajun Honey Butter Salmon is a bold and flavorful dish that’s ready in under 30 minutes! It combines spicy Cajun seasoning with rich, sweet honey butter to create a juicy, caramelized crust on perfectly cooked salmon. Ideal for a quick dinner with restaurant-level taste!

Ingredients

  • 4 salmon fillets (skin on or off, as preferred)
  • 2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice (optional, for balance)
  • Fresh parsley or green onions, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Pat the salmon fillets dry with a paper towel. Season both sides generously with Cajun seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, place the salmon fillets skin-side down and cook for 4–5 minutes.
  3. Flip the fillets and cook for another 3–4 minutes until cooked through and golden brown. Remove from the pan and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium. Add the butter, honey, and minced garlic. Stir constantly until the sauce bubbles and thickens slightly, about 2 minutes.
  5. Return the salmon to the pan and spoon the honey butter sauce over each piece to glaze them.
  6. Finish with a squeeze of lemon juice if desired, and garnish with chopped parsley or green onions.
  7. Serve hot with rice, mashed potatoes, or steamed vegetables.

Tips & Variations

  • For extra heat, add a pinch of cayenne or red pepper flakes to the Cajun mix.
  • Use a cast iron pan for an extra-crispy crust.
  • Make it in the oven by baking at 400°F (200°C) for 12–15 minutes and broiling for the last 2 minutes.
